Frequently Asked Questions

How do I evaluate the costs and fees you charge?

Our fees and charges are on a case by case basis. We have found that there are no two tax or accounting cases that are ever the same and it’s best for us to analyze your problems before offering a solution. It’s similar to taking your car to a mechanic. There are a range of problems and potential solutions that need to be considered before they can give you an idea of what you’ll be paying. We like to get a look under your business hood before giving out the solution and the corresponding price of investment.

Why don't you offer pricing packages?

We are a boutique accounting and tax planning firm. Similar to when you hire an architect to build your dream home, they’re going to consider your wants and desires before building the home. We’re building your dream tax and financial solution and would be doing you a disservice by wrapping it up into a package. With that being said, our services cannot be bundled up in a pricing package and are not one size fits all.

Is taxdome a secure place to upload files to an accounting firm?

Yes, taxdome is a secure server and all information uploaded is properly protected. You can view their security policy HERE.

Do you offer IRS Audit protection?

We offer a wide variety of services and included in some of them is an audit notice review insurance. This is similar to a AAA Card. where if you invest in the AAA membership you can guarantee your ability to get help in the event of an emergency.

With this service, you can:

  • Feel secure and know that you are taken care of
  • Rest easy knowing we have your back
  • Know you are not alone and that you don’t have to be terrified or frantic anymore from dealing with mail from the IRS

With the increase in notices being sent to tax preparers each day, we’ve found that this is a great way to ensure you’re properly protected and able to sleep peacefully at night free from the worries of the IRS.

What is the difference between tax planning and tax preparation?

Great question! We find accounting and tax work to be a lot like the medical field. If you think of the medical field, there are a variety of doctors, but most can be summed up as either a general practitioner or a specialized surgeon. You go to the general practitioner for your yearly checkups, height and weight status updates but if something more serious were needed like a brain surgery or knee replacement you’d be referred out to a specialized surgeon who has the knowledge to provide the care you need. Tax preparation is a lot like the general practitioner where tax planning is more like the specialized surgeon. It requires a more hands on approach and delivers much more desirable results in the form of tax savings and wealth accumulation similar to completing a surgery with 100% of things fixed.

What is a Certified Tax Planner?

A Certified Tax Planner is a tax professional with advanced experience in proactive tax planning, who specializes in finding legal deductions, credits, loopholes and strategies that help their clients pay less tax. The designation is one provided by the ‘American Institute of Certified Tax Coaches’, an exclusive and elite set of tax professionals dedicated to delivering high quality service to their clients. Similar to the specialized surgeon, Chris McCormack has undergone extra schooling and testing to ensure he’s qualified to provide unique, advanced and individualized advice for real estate and business tax savings.
